New York City - WOW! During the last week of school, while underclassmen were going through the stress of taking final exams, our senior class was in New York City enjoying their senior class trip. Even the 30 hours or so on the bus didn't dampen the enthusiasm and fun the class had while there. Some of the events and sites visited during the trip included the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Natural History, Top of the Rock, the 9/11 Memorial, Stomp, and the musical Mary Poppins. There was plenty of shopping and sight-seeing, including a double-decker bus tour of the city and plenty of time spent at Times Square. Many thanks to Mrs. Stone for an excellent job in organizing the trip. CA Eagle Tennis For the first time in 10 years, our tennis teams have been able to play home matches at CA on our six wonderful new tennis courts. Having these courts has inspired our players on both the boys and girls teams to excellent seasons. For the first time in school history, our boys team has advanced to the Tennessee Spring Fling championship which will be on May 22 in Murfreeborough, TN. Our team has worked its way through the regular season then regionals, district, sectional and now onto the state semi-final for A/AA on Tuesday. Congratulations to Coach Chung and all the team members for an awesome season. At the singles and doubles level, Alicia Salazar again had a great season in girls singles while Boston Londis and Michael Chung also advanced deep into their respective tournaments. Graduation Weekend We have been blessed with outstanding weather as we celebrate the Class of 2012 graduation. Both Friday night's speaker Mrs. Marquez and the Baccalaureate speaker, Pastor Don MacLafferty brought powerful challenges to the students. The Commencement address will be given by Mr. Thorman on Sunday, May 20, 2012 at the Collegedale Church, beginning at 10:00 am. Congratulations to the Class of 2012 for completing their high school program and we want to wish them all the best as they move on in their life journey.
